Interesting story, but I felt that it was too much crammed into one book at certain points. Some sections just seemed to be dragged on, hindering me from getting to the truly interesting parts. But all in all, it was a good read.
finally finished this book it took me fr two years bc i kept stopping and starting. i get why its a classic though wow great writing thoroughly enjoyed

there were a lot of things i appreciated about this book in the themes it discusses… especially in narratives of self determination and the autonomy of a woman in this time and place, and i appreciated the development of many of the characters we meet… but all of that is kind of undercut by the huge age gap between jane and rochester, and the racist and imperialist context of the characters and events… it actually chills me a little to think about all of the violence enacted onto black and brown bodies behind the scenes of this novel and in the historic realities it was built upon… going to read wide sargasso sea🤞
