A woman going into heat in the middle of a press conference, surrounded by Alpha politicians who didn't plan to show the world their true, volatile nature? Don’t tempt me with a good time.

I don’t normally read a lot of omegaverse books, but for some reason I was in the mood and this book was free on iBooks. This was full of all those things you love with this kind of story, uncontrollably coming into heat, alphas making a claim, heaps of spice and a bit of plot to keep us moving along.

I had to keep making sure the cars stuck in the daily commute traffic next to me couldn’t hear what was going on in my car as I listened to it every day 😂

There was also a little snippet at the end with what I’m guessing is going to be book two that got me hooked and it looks like there’s a bit of drama about to unfold!!

CN for attempted SA, forcing the couple to make a sex tape… oh, and fisting… does that need a CN? 😏

Peter & Leigh: My Gawd, the heat between these two!

While this was not one of the most raw, gritty, and sexual books I've ever read, it does have lots of spice and comes very close to it. I'm gathering that this takes place in a dystopian natural society, we Alphas are highly regarded and respected and betas are just that, secondary. We meet Leigh, a beta reporter who is covering a local election when her body decides to betray her. She has an embarrassing episode which leads to a chaotic situation. She "presented" (I won't spoil it for those who want to go in blind but let's just say it was a dangerous thing to do in a room full of Alphas). Her involuntary action puts her on the radar of everyone on in the city, as well as one of the candidates, Liberal Peter Leod.

Peter and Leigh have some of the most wanton sexual scenes in the book. On more than one occasion (which includes knotting). Be advised that the scenes are very graphic, and you might want to check the triggers before reading. It was a good quick read for me and I may go back and finish the series at a later date. If you want lots of smexy stuff and are not easily offended, you will enjoy their story.

Happy reading!

The h is absolutely irritating. Two stars is for an interesting premise/plot. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past my annoyance with the h to give more

Intense, dark omegaverse romance which is filled with emotion and mystery. This is a very well developed and written story with great suspense and danger. Leigh and Peter have heated chemistry between them.

My Review

I enjoyed this one a lot and will now definitely be reading other stuff by this author in the future.
This is omegaverse and it was done very well it was also quite explicit which is as you would expect from this particular genre and I did especially appreciate this.

It’s set in a modern society but with alpha omega and beta dynamics in place.
Leigh a reporter presents during an electoral candidacy press conference catching the attention of all in attendance including mayor candidate Peter Leod.

This brings her fully to his attention and he definitely wants to know more, there’s danger and heat and also some added dark themes and it really was such an easy page-turner.
Peter a liberal has up until now has tried to suppress his alpha instincts but Leigh’s arrival in his life changes all that bringing all of his aggression and protective instincts to the forefront.

It was really well written and though not a very long read it delivered on all fronts.
If you’ve read this genre type before you’ll know just what to expect if not just a heads up it gets very dirty, but it still has a fully developed story arc running through.
Definitely recommend this one if you like omegaverse that’s not too dark.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Alpha (Alpha Ties #1).
