I just wanted a little fast read but this was so heartwarming, I don't remember when was the last time I read something so comforting & cosy like this! also!! it made me chuckle a good couple of times

I wouldn’t be able to spoil the plot if I tried because nothing actually happened in this book. It was like watching a family live their everyday lives with the addition of a couple kookie characters. I stayed for the name drops of Northern Michigan landmarks since I lived there years ago and used to work at Boyne Mountain

I was expecting something similar to Standard Deviation and I guess in some ways the writing and the sharp observations about everyday life are just as good. It's just that I wasn't interested in any of the characters of the book.

I really enjoyed this quick and easy read. You can read it in one sitting if you had time. I laughed out loud many times. I loved all of the characters and it's a very feel good story. The writing style reminds me of Amy Poeppel's book, Musical Chairs. So if you like that book, you will enjoy Early Morning Riser.
