This is a supreme read - I could not stop once I started, and I had other things to do, so I took breaks reluctantly to attend to the real world - Fast paced, action packed, super power fueled, urban fantasy, young adult from a single point of view - what a rush!

at over 107K words, this is a full length novel that goes by too fast. I want more, and thankfully there is a novelette and another follow on novel published. The main character, David, has a very real feel about him, which makes this an easy read. It is different in that there are people with super powers, and they are all villains, and that is another cool angle.

The world building is incredible, and I enjoy the points of info-dump, as they are story integral and needed at that moment, without being cliche.

This is a fun and unique novel and should not be missed if you enjoy super heroes (or at least super powers) modern day fantasy, and action novels.

Me ha parecido un libro super entretenido, un divertimento, tanto para el lector como debió ser para él escribirlo. Ideal para después de una lectura "pesada" o cuando estás encallado en la pila...

Interesting take on a dystopian superhero world. There were some things that Sanderson caught me by surprise with and some that he definitely lead me to figure out. This is the first work of his I have read and he is starting to make me a fan and definitely interested in reading his other works.
In a world where all the superpowered seem to be villains will the heros ever show? In the meantime what can be done and who will step up? We only see a small section of what the world has become and are led to believe this area is the lesser of evils but the boy we see at 8 and follow at 18 believes evil is still evil. Why be complacent?
