I appreciated the fact that there was a plot. love the bear woman lore. the lesbian with a centuries long grudge was very realistic.

I love this series so much! I can’t believe I used to think graphic novels weren’t for me! While Vol. 3 was a serious letdown, and I was considering throwing in the towel for good, Vol. 4 swept in a revitalised my love for these characters, their friendships, and this marvellous, stupendous world. I feel like we’re only just beginning to explore what this universe has to offer, and I can’t wait to see where this plot goes! I have a feeling it’s going to get even darker and more mysterious, and I’m digging it.

Guess I’ve got to dive straight into Vol. 5!

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I'm so sad I chose to read this in volume form instead of individual issues because the trades are way behind right now. Also apparently this volume is missing the original issue #13 because it's stand-alone and doesn't fit with this arc. Wahhhh. I'm missing a whole issue of Lumberjane cuteness!

Volume 4 was well worth the wait though. Great arc! The Lumberjanes always get to do such cool stuff! I want to be friends with all of them!

Thank goodness Allen is back as the drawing hand. I enjoyed learning how the lumberjanes met (yay for Jo's loving parents!!) and their first adventures, although I think the plot arc of Abigail is a bit rushed.

This volume was right back on top form again and I have to say I loved the direction the story took here and the further mysteries which are hinted at. The girls and their friends from the Scouting Lads are quickly forced to band up when Jen, their team leader, goes missing in a freak snow storm. The Lumberjanes have to figure out what they should do to find Jen, and meanwhile Jen meets someone who used to be a Lumberjane before it was quite as fun, leading to more mysteries.

I loved the colour tones and layouts as always, but here I really enjoyed the scenes in browns which were memories of a younger Abigail and Rosie. The way that they stood out from the rest of the story was beautiful and simple and really added a bit more to the overall plot.

I still adore this series and I will certainly keep picking up the volumes as they do not disappoint :) 4.5*s overall for this one :D

Still interesting but not as fun as the first book in the series.
