This volume got an instant 5 for having two trans people talking about joining the other gender summer camp. Superb.

The rest is good as always.

In which we have a full story arc in one collected volume! Lumberjanes must be ready for anything, even a blizzard in the middle of summer, or the past of the camp coming back with a bite. Also maybe, weird time-stuff?
Maybe it’s just because I’m reading these in quick succession, treating them as light, fun, casual romps in the woods, but I’m finding the more I read, the more I’m kind of…flat about it. They’re still good stories, some better than others, but I’m just not feeling that, well, excited about them as I progress. I like seeing my suspicion about Jo being confirmed, and seeing her and Bradley butt heads at first, then how that evolves. Not to mention the ever-distressed Jen – though she’s getting better at handling all the wackiness that Roanoke Cabin seems to get into! Getting more of Rosie and the Bear Woman’s history – as well as that of things that go bump in the night - is interesting too, and makes an already weird camp situation even weirder.

This was super cute like all the other vol. And the ending with that twist hmm. I need to read the next vol and see what’s going to happen

This continues to be a really fun series. I wasn't sure where the story was going to go but every volume reveals more information and takes the story somewhere totally new, while still moving the plot forward. I'm having a ton of fun with these books and they're a nice break from heavier reading!

50,000 thumbs up. I think this one *might* be my favorite of the batch.

I continue to be so incredibly excited about this series and wish I had had access to this kind of content growing up. I was especially excited to get some more background on the mysterious Rosie and learn more about the purpose of the Lumberjanes. But the real draw continues to be how amazing the girls and Jen are in every panel. Jen's mix of fierceness, exasperation, and the desire to protect her girls was highlighted in this book, to my delight - her driving = how I feel driving. I'm so glad that she is starting to demand answers and start embracing all the things that go along with being a Lumberjane.

But the most significant part for me was the conversation between Barney and Jo about being trans and being where you feel comfortable and what it means to be a Lumberjane. It is seriously great to see diversity in race, gender, and sexuality presented in such a positive way to kids in a manner that they can connect to. This series makes me wish I could afford to buy sets of it and mail it to everyone I know with kids or who enjoys graphic novels.

I will forever and always love the Lumberjanes, but this one in particular stood out because of advancements in plot and backstory.

Also we're getting closer to Jo's background and I cannot read articles about it without bursting into tears.

Cannot even.
