Wow! That was my reaction to the ending of this story. This is a solid four star read and a great thriller that I read in a single sitting. Now that is how I know it's a good one.  After I finished, I did go back through to look at my notes and I did guess pretty early on who was behind everything, but I never would have guessed how they plotted everything. That one threw me for a loop. I did like the pacing of this book, how all throughout the book a different story is being written than the one you are reading.
Also, the fake acknowledgements at the end had me grabbing the book and saying, "you're kidding right?"
Then after I hoped my dad didn't hear me and wake up lol. If I was in a house by myself at a secluded area where I didn't know anyone, I'd be freaking out through this reading.

Definitely recommend to others who like thrillers and faced paced reads that keep you on your toes.

A few too many twists at the end, it kind of felt like too much. Overall though, Emma’s story arc was really touching, I just don’t why so many people had to die for her to get there! Also had nightmares reading this, lol.

A fast paced, entertaining thriller with horror elements. I liked the books in the book as well as the emails and discussions about writing. Especially as reader who reads thriller this was super fun to read. And it felt like as if the author played with some stereotypes.
There were a lot of twists, kept me at the edge of my seat. The only thing i didn't like was that the ending felt a little too long. Imo this book could've ended 40 pages earlier.

After suffering a tragedy, Emma leaves her teaching job and agrees to house sit a beach house in Washington for the winter. Her life goes from isolated reading days to horror movie. A fast paced thriller that keeps you guessing until the end. A 4.5 rating.
