I definitely really enjoyed this book now and when I read it at 13 I loved now even a year later I've read a lot more and experienced a lot of different amazing books I can say these are really amazing middle but the younger you are the better! But still really excited for the next books! (I haven't read those before)

When I saw the full collection of the Fall of the Beasts at my local library, I knew I needed to read them. I quite enjoyed the first Spirit Animals series and the introduction to the various authors.
Once again, this was a good beginning to the series, however, as it had been quite a while since I had read the first one, it took a bit longer to remember some of the details that were glossed over in this series.
I did enjoy the twists and turns that set up this series, and look forward to seeing how the main characters will work together to ultimately defeat the evil killing the Evertree.

Great Tellun...

This one kept me on edge!!!
They do know how to start off great!!!
We've had mass murder, manslaughter, theft,...
I felt their loss, misery, happiness, panic,...
This was supposed to be a light read, a children's book.

So Tarik is back, the manipulating son of a snake is bigger and eviler than ever!
And I think the one in the red cloak is Shane, at least my instincts say so.
The heroes are split up in two groups each on their own pad to save the Evertree. Each group has seen losses and both are in mortal danger.

Can't wait for the next one!

I chose this book because I had heard that the Spirit Animals series was really good. Since this was titled Fall of the Beasts Book 1, I assumed that it was a brand new series within the Spirit Animals family and I would be fine reading it without having read the previous Spirit Animal books. However, it is a continuation of the original series. I’m not sure why they started a new series if it’s the same characters and concept as the first series. Seems like they should have just continued the first series. Obviously, I didn’t have each characters backstory and I think because of this I had trouble keeping the characters and their animals straight. However, it could have been how the book was written. That aside, this book was non-stop action and pretty violent but was somehow boring at the same time. There wasn’t any break in the action to get to know the new characters, they just showed up and joined the action. It was hard to feel any suspense when I didn’t care that much about the characters. Even though they have been previously established in the first series, more could have been written about their thoughts and they could have had a little down time to make the reader more invested in what’s happening with them.

I gave this book to my boys (ages 9 and 11) to read and both of them put it down about half-way through and didn’t pick it up again. They are fantasy fans but prefer a more substantial story. You may enjoy this book if you’ve read the first series but I’d suggest you read some reviews of this book from people who also have read it. A lot of them didn’t like it either so it’s not just me.. Read at your own risk!

Thanks edelweiss for providing an e-ARC of the book.

Honestly, I only read the series for one reason - [a:Marie Lu|4342215|Marie Lu|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1285032806p2/4342215.jpg] is going to write the finale of the first series, [b:The Evertree|18114578|The Evertree (Spirit Animals, #7)|Marie Lu|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1417892131s/18114578.jpg|25441832]. But I quite liked the first series and it ended WELL.
But since this is popular to the children (like The 39 Clues) another series have sprung together with the Evertree.

A sequel series is in fact not needed but due to the reason above it went on. The second series focuses more about the history, since the enemy is an ancient one
Spoileran egg that holds the Wyrm cracked when the Evertree died but when it regrew it is still weak and the Wyrm/"worm/parasite" attacked it and causes the Evertree to die. And dying Evertree=something bad will happen to the bond between spirit animals and humans.
This book took place after 6 months, if I correctly remembered, the last book had ended.

The team will split into two, Abeke and Rollan will find the other Fallen Beasts,
Spoilerthey will find Tellun,
while Meilin and Connor
Spoilerwho is infected by the Wyrm and is healed by Jhi
is the one tasked to discover why the Evertree is dying together with an unusual ally,
Kovo. I really liked Meilin and Connor's adventure more than Abeke and Rollan's (in fact I didn't find theirs enjoyable).

The pacing is the book is good, especially on Meilin and Connor. Some chapters are too long while the others are short (that made me believe that it is short and I ended in reading the whole book in a few hours). But all in all I liked this book and after the cliffhanger on both teams, I can't wait to read the sequel plus the author is [a:Victoria Schwab|3099544|Victoria Schwab|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1336685438p2/3099544.jpg], who wrote [b:The Archived|10929432|The Archived (The Archived, #1)|Victoria Schwab|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1338729878s/10929432.jpg|15846509], [b:Vicious|13638125|Vicious|V.E. 3.5

I have not read any of the other books related to Spirit Animals and these characters Conor, Abeke, Meilin, and Rollan. I picked up this book for my nephews. Yet, I ended up enjoying reading this book. I will make sure that I get my nephews the rest of the books as I want to read them as well. Reading this book kind of made me think of Airbender. However this book was cool because of all of the different spirit animals that the group had. I like how the spirit animal was connected to each person not just appearing but in life and death. Zerif is an bad, bad man. I hope that the group can put a stop to him and his evil plans.
