Not sure what to think about this one - I don't think it quite captures the same magic and catharsis of The Last Olympian, which is a shame since that's one of my favorite Riordan books and an excellent series finale. This finale has some nice moments, but I think there are pacing issues that prevent it from building the necessary momentum, and it lacks the emotional core that Percy/Annabeth/Luke's relationship had in the OG series.

I also think the decision to introduce so many characters in this series may have not been for the best, because it means there are so many POVs to juggle by the final book that we don't even get POV chapters with all 7 prophecy heroes (I think maybe it was a missed opportunity to not have Reyna or Leo be 2 of the 7, just to cut down on some of the other POVs, although I'm not sure who could be cut or reshuffled - although now that I say it I do think Riordan's disinterest in Frank and Hazel is palpable in these later books and that's really disappointing, cause with more development they could be some of my favorites). Overall I think Riordan tried to do so much, he may have stretched himself thin here - this finale wraps up what it needs to, but not everything feels earned or has the emotional weight it needs to be truly satisfying. That being said I'm definitely nitpicking - I think fans of Riordan and Percy will enjoy this, I just probably won't reread it a third time myself.
