i was hoping for some new stories but it was just the same thing as the series, just worse. i love she-at with all my heart but it just represents the series badly.

The book was nice, but over 75% of it is a simple retelling of the show's first episode, and doesn't bring anything new to the universe. I wish we had gotten more insight into the character's heads.
Definitely aimed at a younger audience.

The book follows the first episode of the show exactly, including all the same dialogue, with very little deviance (mostly just the addition of some internal thoughts), so if you’ve seen the show, you already know everything that happens.

It gets four stars because the author misread the dynamic between Catra and Adora in the show. They aren't sisters, they're in love with each other. Other than that the book is fine.
