In the words of Shane Brennan, "Oh boy."

(One extra star because my 2-month-old was entranced by the cover.)

I really liked it. The characters where interesting and the the story moved along at a good pace.

Unexpectedly good read. Not normally my kind of book but the story drew me in and kept me engaged. I could relate to the characters and you really feel their ups and downs. The ending was a little predictable but in all, worth the time!!

Such a GREAT book!! I instantly fell in love with the Brennan’s and how, no matter what, they stick together and protect one another. The characters were written in a way that made you root for them and want to be a part of their overbearing Irish family. I was so invested in the family drama and was not ready when the book was over. Great pick if looking for a break from thrillers/ romance.

and I thought my extended family was messed up!

God I loved everything about the Brennan family. Such a tight knit bunch willing to do whatever it takes to support and help their family members out. This story had lots of drama and some good twists to keep things interesting.

I enjoyed this book and there were a few times I really felt for the characters. I like that character's lives kind of came full circle by the end.

This was a pretty good tale of a close knit Irish-American family that has lots of issues. It wasn't breaking any new ground but I always enjoy a dysfunction family story. Sunday Brennan (her idiotic name was a major complaint from me) gets in a car accident in California five years after she left her family and fiancé with nary an explanation and has to come home. Denny Brennan is in secret debt trying to expand the business he owns with his best friend, Kale (another terrible name), who is also the aforementioned ex-fiancé (and now married to someone else). Jackie Brennan had some legal trouble, Mickey Brennan, the patriarch, is suffering from dementia, and Shane Brennan is... a complete and utter sweetheart who has some developmental disabilities. A few big secrets are revealed, none of them surprising in the least, but I mostly enjoyed this book. I just don't think I'll remember it much in a few years.

I loved this book and I read it in a week but I wanted more. I wanted less cliche and more about these characters especially Denny and Sunday and Theresa (oddly enough). I loved them and I wanted more
