This would make a GREAT MOVIE. I love a dysfunctional family, multiple narrators, and stories told in different timelines. This was all of that. I really liked the last sentence of one chapter leading the next from another character.

I felt like some parts reiterated plot, feelings or scenarios just to make the book longer, which was distracting.

This book was okay.  The characters are fine - I really didn't like Sunday.  The story is a build toward a big secret she has, and in the end, they set it up to be much bigger than it was.  Don't get me wrong- it was terrible.  But it wasn't what I was expecting.  I also didn't like the ending.

I adored this book. I loved the Brennans and getting to know them, their characteristics and all their flaws. Each of them were so different but their connections to each other were so real and tangible. It embodied true, authentic family relationships. The chapters were short and I didn’t know who’s POV I would get next, which I loved. So many intricate moments connected to each other and the story unfolded from many different view points. The subtleties were as intriguing as the events and the relationships, and I couldn’t put it down.

Each sentence was so direct and poignant, no fluff or filler which had me turning pages as quickly as I could. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this Irish Catholic family drama from @tracey_lange! Every character os flawed and messy. This is family distinction at its finest and a wild ride as bonds bend but don’t break. I couldn’t put it down. #netgalley #botm #bookofthemonth #bookreview #bookstagram #wearethebrennans

3.5

This was so good. I enjoyed the character development, and it supported the story throughout. It was a pleasure to read.

Maybe should be 3.75. A melodrama that I enjoyed more than I should have.
