There wasn’t much I liked about this book. I knew where it was headed as far as the end, there was not one character I liked or wanted to know, this family borders on cult like. The writing style and the hope that I would be surprised and the story would take an unexpected turn kept me reading.

DNF at page 168. This book wasn't bad, it just wasn't really catching my interest. When the big reveal came about why Sunday left the family for 5 years, it felt hollow and unbelievable that she would leave her family and boyfriend for that reason. That more than anything is what made me stop reading. I have a ton of other books from the library and don't really want to waste my time on a book that isn't clicking for me. Loads of other people loved this book, though, so maybe you will, too. It just wasn't for me.
