My favourite King (tied with Carrie). I loved the suspense, the setting, the characters, the vampires. If someone told me this was based on a true story from a little town called Jersualem's Lot in Maine, I'd believe you.

I'm revisiting early Stephen King and finding I still enjoy it as much, or nearly as much, as I did many years ago. This is a spooky one.

This book is dripping with atmosphere. Nothing horrifying that kept me up at night but many of the scenes with the Marsten house had me reading with light on. King does an amazing job at creating this small New England town and filling it with inhabitants, just to watch it slowly fall apart. A perfect fall book.

An old school horror done right. I actually had a few nightmares of my own whilst reading this one.

Stephen King's vampire book was entertaining. The ending left me with some questions, but overall a creepy, fun ride.

The beginning was slow, but the world building was worth it
