Although I enjoyed reading Brit Bennet's debut novel, I found it kind of lacking having read the Vanishing Half first. I absolutely loved the Vanishing Half, but unlike that novel I just couldn't connect to any of the characters in this one. I found them all a bit unlikable, and that story didn't feel resolved in the end.
