Excellent graphic adaptation of a little-known short story by L. Frank Baum. Alex Robinson expands on the story considerably, fleshing out some characters, adding others, and updating the whole thing in a way that brings it into the 21st century while still remaining true to the spirit and joy of the original. Highly enjoyable, highly entertaining.

December - it's time to think about Christmas & Santa Claus. (& what to buy my now adult children)
Most of you picture Santa like this;
But I'm in New Zealand. While visiting us, he should be dressed like this;
But I digress. A Kidnapped Santa Claus is a charming, old fashioned, fairy tale, perfect for getting young children in the mood for Christmas. I finished it with a smile on my face - & that's what reads at this time of year should do.
ho, ho, ho!

This was my favorite of the stories in the [b:Tales of Christmas|28571654|Tales of Christmas|Anton Chekhov|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png|48732263] collection. I would recommend this for even young children. It speaks to a general optimism in humanity that I love to support in others and the storyline is unique.

A quickie you can read out loud in about the time it takes a kid to drink his hot chocolate.

A new take on the fable of Santa Claus, the author creates living embodiments of hatred, envy, malice and repentance who try to kidnap santa in hopes of creating these emotions in the children who were much too happy during Christmas. In all honesty, the idea failed spectacularly and hence they never tried again.
