  • Juvenile writing, even for a YA novel (what teenager says "what the shit", its just cringe inducing 
  • When the writing isn't juvenile, there is lots of wasted words (the whole bit where she says that silence isn't silence...and then paraphrases the definition of silence)

Maybe it’s because I read too many reviews first, but I just couldn’t get past

This was just okay - I struggled to get into the story or connect with any of the characters but I liked the themes explored . Ultimately, this just fell flat for me and I was a bit bored with it.
