This book was a boring read. While I understand that it was supposed to reflect what your last days on a dystopian Earth were supposed to be like, it didn't make for an interesting read. The book was sad & I feel like it reflected the stress of the situation well, but the characters had no names, no back story & no explanation as to what happened to the world. It made it very hard to feel for the characters in the end. I found the 'I dont know' coming from all of the characters numerous times beyond annoying. I just think this could have been written a heck of a lot better & dropping characters with no history behind anything into a dystopian world was not the right angle.

When I read this book I couldn't put it down. Which is surprising, honestly, because it feels like the two main characters are just walking for much of the plot. However, its McCarthy's description of the environment around them and the relationship of the father and son that makes the story so interesting.

Straziante, poetico e macabro. Cormac Mccarthy ai massimi livelli. Ogni frase è come un coltellata al mondo post-apocalittico descritto. Alla fine del libro, è normale chiedersi: è ancora necessario portare dentro di se la scintilla del fuoco dell'umanità?

Not my favorite but I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe I would've liked more worldbuilding.
