I enjoyed this book as much as the first installment of this series. Aiden Snow has this sexy timbre to his voice that is perfect for these characters. As the narrator, he was able to convey the various emotions in this angst-filled story.

In this book 2, a new detective Sergeant Corbin "Syn" Sydney moved from Atlanta to Philly to join Detectives Cashel Godfrey and Leonidas Day's unorthodox yet highly effective law enforcement team. While working Syn met a skittish bartender Furious Barkley whom he found intriguing in a way he hadn't allowed himself to consider a man in a long time. This created a tension between Sun and Furi because Furi was very comfortable with his sexuality and had been out of the closet for a long time. Then add in the fact that Furi was on the run and hiding from an abusive husband for the past couple of years. Syn and Furi had quite the obstacles to their new romance, and it gave this novel some angst.

The mystery and suspense in this novel dealing with Furi's murdered co-workers wasn't difficult to figure out. It got the whole task force gang involved and added danger to this story. Syn and Furi were sweet, hot and entertaining together. I really look forward to the next installment of this series.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Syn has spent his life dedicated to his job and figures that he will be alone for the rest of his life. That is until he meets Furi, who he can't take his eyes off and will do anything to get to know him. Furi is currently getting over his relationship with his abusive husband and is a little skittish about Syn's advances. After some convincing he is willing to go out with Syn. After some initial resistance they both do quite well communicating with each other.

Another enjoyable read from A.E. Via! This has quickly become one of my favorites series and authors. Via's characters seem so real and relatable. Great story lines. Amazing writing including some pretty hot and steamy scenes. This is another book that had everything I was looking for. Loved it!

This book was awesome! It makes more sense if read after 'Nothing Special', but that isn't strictly necessary, though I'd personally recommend it.

Plot: A cop coming to terms with his sexuality and a man running away from his abusive husband. Both were dealt with well and neither was angsty to an extreme - they have hurdles, but these hurdles are overcome with a realistic amount of difficulty.

Characters: Syn was awesome and completely badass!!
Spoiler (as shown in the first couple of chapters)
He has an issue with his sexuality, but he deals with it pretty maturely, probably because of the camaraderie within his unit at work. It clearly gives him confidence to treat Furi properly.
Furi has had a crap time of it, but has put himself back on track, using what he needs to to achieve his dream. It may not be something he likes (aka the online porn), but he does what he has to because he wants his own automotive company with Doug. It's admirable, and whilst his past makes him wary of Syn to begin with, once he realises that Syn is a great guy, he jumps in with his whole heart. Both characters are very likeable and you want them to end up happily together!

Sex: Very, very, very hot and both characters are versatile, which is something I particularly liked!

I thoroughly recommend this book because I adored it - go and read!
