Why is there so much caveman porn in this?! The first book had so much more to offer and really strived to connect its reader with our more primitive and primal instincts. So far the main instinct instilled in our young male hero seems to be to teach young virgins about orgasms. The chapters devoted to Ayla are somewhat boring and stylized, but at least those chapters include snippets of spirituality or survival. The chapters with Jondalar are all reminiscent of that jock road trip movies where the young male is on an everlasting quest to get laid.

There's something about it that is keeping me reading, but there's a definite increase in eye rolling and audible huffs.
