Backman delivers his signature humor-poignant mixture in an effective memoir-style collection of essays to his son. It's everything you expect from Backman with fun anecdotes that help demystify one of the greatest writers of our time. While it's best for parents or parents-to-be, everyone has a little something to gain from this exploration into the parental psyche. Along the way, you might just catch a glimpse of the inner workings of humanity.

What a fun and whimsical book about advice in the form of letters to his then infant son. Fun easy little stories about life. Quirky. I love these short books from Backman

Disclaimer: do not read this book in public places, else people will be staring at you with their judgy eyes as you will be laughing out loud. Or on the second thought; it's all worth it. This book is downright hilarious with some crazy and real insights on the challanges and "fun" of being a parent.
It's got Football, The Undertaker, Zlatan and Samwise Gamgee in it as a teaching lesson. He really is a master of pop culture references and it's refreshing. I really didn't want this book to end alas, all good things do. If you really want to enjoy a light-hearted, funny yet enlightening book, give this one a chance you will fall in love with it. Can't wait to meet the writer.

I was called away for an emergency and the book was due back to the library.
