When first picking up this story it appeared to be a major departure from the last book. It followed a completely different cast of characters in a completely different part of this world. As the story progresses it does a good job of showing the development that the main character is undergoing as they come of age and start embracing the title that they were given. The author does a great job of introducing back in the main character from book 1 to help tie the world together. The book ends with foreboding of what the future will bring which makes the reader want to continue on.

Not as good as the first one, most of the book takes place in a pretty boring and bland place that doesn't trigger my imagination much and I wish we would've gotten more interaction between her and Ged. Nevertheless a part of the series and can therefore not just be skipped. And I still enjoyed reading it.
