Nando’s Spice Rating: Hot

FYI there’s a lot of trigger warnings in this so just know that going into it
I really struggled with what to rate this.
I haven’t read a “dark“ romance in awhile this didn’t really scratch the itch for me. Just felt like something was missing. It was almost as if the chemistry wasn’t there between the main characters.

Also, I think this book lacked a lot of plot and truly not much happened. There is a great emphasis on MMC personality and constantly explaining why he is the way he is and not enough actual action.

The writing is terrible. This is clearly a beloved series but yikes. I guess I will not be finding out why.

I had a little tear-jerk-moment at the end part of the book. I mean, THAT has to happen with Killian's Family. I'm really glad it did, they needed it, Killian deserves it, because IMO, it's the cherry-on-top for the character development.
Aaaand it also seems like the only part i can vividly remember, he he
But it's a good book, the plot is not predictable.

It was a palate cleanser in between acotar books. Elementary level of reading ability and comprehension (not actually because smut) to grasp the crude concept of this book/series. Let’s face it, this author uses the same formula for all her books and she made millions. Formula: crazy, hot, ripped, rich boy with “quirky” girl with self esteem issues, chasing, smexy, bootyhole stuff, fist-fight, verbal misunderstanding, boy does bare minimum to get her back, end game. Genius, actually. To pump out the same thing but change the names and still have people go feral for the next book is extraordinary. Furthermore, this author clearly has no idea how universities work. 2 rival campuses in the UK but one of them is just all American. A psychopath in medical school because he likes to cut dead bodies… yeah okay.

Alas, I was flying through the book though. I felt smart reading it. 1 star because I was in my follicular phase and 0.5 because I don’t really know.
