I wanted to like this more than I did. I did like it though. It was a straightforward romance with an enemies to lovers trope meets rockstar romance. I do love the rockstar books that involve a lot of touring, so that was a great with this one. Being stuck on a tour bus makes for some great scenes. I felt like this book was entirely too long. It seemed to drag in some parts. This book did set up some great stories to come from the other band mates though and I am looking forward to those!
I will say that I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were great but the narrator singing some of the song lyrics was super cringy for me. I didn't love it. I would have preferred the narrator just read the lyrics.

So I just re-read it. Definitely a 5 star read. Very refreshing and steamy rockstar romance. And can I say that scene where Dalia is listening to Nick sing in her headphones and then he shows up is freaking HOT??? Like....whoa.
........
What a refreshing rock star romance! I get really tired of the standard drunk, philandering rock star who just wants to screw the pretty girl.
Dalia was amazing. Nick was amazing. Jasper, David, Tali, Malka, and even Ian. I loved every character, even Flamingo.
This is almost a 5 star for me. I will read it again in a few weeks and may change it. Sweet, sensual, hot, and addicting. This story was amazing.

I enjoyed the book, quite a bit really. Like listen to the entire book in a day enjoyed it. It just doesn't have anything that makes it stand out against a lot of other romance books to me. It's fun, spicy, and a quick read.
My favorite this is that when the second chance trope kicked into play, our heroine stood strong, kept to her convictions, and made him do better before giving him the second chance. She also recognized where she needed to be better. They both worked on growth before coming back together. Such a nice refreshing way to see the second chance done.

Overall the book was exactly what I thought it was going to be. A simple rockstar-romance. I did really enjoy the banter between the two main characters as well as the enemies-to-lovers concepts. But, there were a few too many "not like other girls" moments with the main female character who actively avoided listening to the bands music and was only ever in the situation because her sister "made her go". This did make the book feel like another fan-fiction about a boy-band but eventually it did move past that.
The banter between the love interests bumped the rating from a 2.5 to 3 for me.

I really wanted to like this one - but I couldn't care less about the two MC. They were so annoyed with each other. ugh.

Nick & Dalia
Age Gap/Forced Proximity/Rockstar Romance
Nick was a bit of a jackass at the beginning as he was meant to be; but honestly I love all 4 men from Blue is the Color. I look forward to following along in their journey and getting to know each of them individually in their books. Wolf did an amazing job of building the connection between them and me as the reader. I fell for each of them a little bit even though Nick was the focus of this particular book.
Dalia was fun; and I enjoyed her too. I really don't like my FMC to doubt their worth even if it is only slight. Dalia doubted her value and it honestly takes away from her story. She's a strong, uniquely beautiful character who deserved more. But also I'm pissed there was no grand gesture with an AG doll.

Story line wasn't really noteworthy, but I did have a great time reading this. The characters are well developed and the writing is done well. There were a few lines in the book that really hit home. I'll definitely be adding the second book to the TBR pile.
I received an ARC from the author and I am happy to give my honest review.
I’ve read much (maybe all?) of Julia Wolf’s works and every single book is like my catnip. I love her characters, her settings, even her angst. When I heard that Times Like These was going to be a little different I was intrigued.
Times Like These starts out kind of cringeworthy. Dalia (love the name!) and her sister are going to see a band in their hometown of Baltimore. The band Blue is the Color is fairly famous but Dalia isn’t a fan of their music. During the show one of the band members collapses and Dalia takes the opportunity to blast them on Twitter. The lead singer Nick tweets her back, calling her a very offensive word. Chaos ensues. Dalia loses her job because the band’s fans find out where she works and harass her. Dalia meets Jasper, the guy who collapsed because of an illness, and is offered a job on the band’s tour. Her and Nick do not get along but she takes the job, hoping to earn some money before her last semester of college.
On the Swerve tour, which I think is like Warped Tour, Dalia makes tons of friends. There’s a few romantic interests but since she knows she is only here for the summer she doesn’t want to get too involved. She slowly starts building a friendship with Nick. She teaches him what it’s like to be a normal person again, helping him shed the arrogance that being a rockstar brings. And slowly, slowly - they fall into like and eventually into love. This is a really good slow burn, guys.
Some of the things I liked: Dalia is an adult college student who paid her own way. This is similar to my life story and I loved seeing that reflected in a pretty awesome character. Dalia stood her ground on the things that were important to her. And the guys of the band were realistic, supportive, and grounded. I am really looking forward to their books.
Some of the things I didn’t like as much: Nick needed to grovel more. I don’t think he paid enough for allowing his temper to lash out. I also don’t think Nick grew as a character as much as he could. He was still the little boy, angry at the world and happened to have a microphone to project into.
I would definitely recommend this book. I’ve seen that Julia is working on the other bandmate’s books and I hope we see more of Tali, the band’s manager. This book is edgier than Julia’s usual work but it was entertaining and comes with a really good playlist.

Amazing
Read this book as part of a groups book read. Only trouble was I couldn't quit reading at the assigned chapters. Nick and Dahlia captured my attention and I had to have just one more word right up til I finished the book. Loved their story and HEA. I definitely want to read more in this series highly recommend
