Ricki Wilde is the daughter of a well-to-do funeral home-owning Atlanta family, but she's never fit in with the rest of her family. Instead, her heart is set on beautiful flower arrangements and vintage clothes. After meeting an elderly benefactress, Ricki gathers the means to move to Harlem to open her dream flower shoppe.

Late one night in Harlem, Ricki encounters a handsome, mysterious man in a community garden. He warns her not to follow him, but she can't help it, she's drawn to him. When he finally tells her the whole truth about who he is, though, she must decide what she's willing to sacrifice for their love.

Great supporting characters and fantastic "own voices". I enjoyed this one

I finished this book crying. It is beautiful and tragic, and the ending is everything. Tia Williams is a beautiful and masterful storyteller, and I cannot wait to read every book she writes. Ricki and Ezra deserve everything good in this world, and Della and Tuesday were such beautiful and strong side characters. I have no notes, and only amazement at this book.
