Firstly, the chapter titles are delightful. I also enjoyed the world that this was set in. The paranormal aspects were well thought out and I loved that the different species/races have some kind of alliance/association despite their differences surrounding humans. The different kinds of werewolves and how that works was also interesting. I also liked the detail and care that was put into the witchcraft aspect. This makes sense though as one of the authors (the author is a pen name for two friends) works in it.

But for the not so good? I think this could use an extra edit. It's a bit long and all over the place at times (and I'm not talking about the flashbacks) and some parts could use a little bit more elaboration. I also felt like the two perspectives read very much the same. Giving the characters more distinct voices/actions could definitely improve the reading experience. I didn't always read whose point of view the chapter was meant to be from and I couldn't tell from the writing - most of the chapters are about both characters and are written in mostly the same way (although Booker's chapters did sometimes have a bit more of a smell aspect thrown in). Both points of view still largely read as a third person perspective that is somehow both inside and outside both character's minds at the same time and I don't think adding the two points of view accomplished what it was meant to. Also, be aware that there is a rather long sex scene. As someone who doesn't enjoy this kind of content, I skipped over it (it is possible) but just be aware that it does exist if this is something that bothers you (or something that you enjoy of course).

If you like or are interested in modern witchcraft and like romance werewolves (you probably know the kinds of werewolf tropes I mean - although I think it's less on the possessive side of things based on what I've heard about other books) I think you might enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, all views are my own.

Some notes on some of the content warnings (all are individually spoilered):

Pregnancy:
Not much detail but also contains some minor discussions around the complications of werewolf pregnancy in particular

Sexual violence:
Characters are forced to partake in sexual acts e.g. give a blowjob. This is in flashbacks.

Mental illness:
PTSD surrounding kidnapping followed by a life of physical and sexual violence

Kidnapping:
Not much detail about the actual event, but te violence and sexual violence tags apply to what happened after
