TW: this book contains rape, domestic violence, infidelity, and drug abuse.

I stayed up way too late trying to get to the end of this book. Very fast paced, and with a surprise reveal around every corner, it was hard to set it down. I wasn’t crazy about ANY of the characters, there is a LOT of dysfunction in that friend group for sure. I enjoyed the drama and the mystery of not knowing how things were going to end, but I have to say the ending didn’t feel realistic to me. There were a lot of unanswered questions and at least one relationship that was unbelievable to me. Overall this was a fun read, but not one of my favorites so far.

I think this book would be great for anyone who loves thrillers, books about the worst things a person can do, friendships and secrets, and anyone who just needs a fast-paced book that will keep them intrigued.

Three friends, each with their own little secrets, find themselves struggling to keep their lives in order and their secrets hidden. Their friendship is put to the test when their secrets start to unravel.
Little Deadly Secrets is a fast action drama that explores topics such as date rape, rape, spousal abuse, infidelity, and obessive behaviors like opioid abuse and excessive spending. It has a lot of storylines going on in this one little book about a secret that leads to murder. It twists down various story avenues and circles back to the idea that secrets have a way of coming out when one least expects it.
I enjoyed this story but felt it was too heavy handed. It could have had fewer tough topics. It was very twisty with the plot line which kept you guessing and kept you interested. The story tries to be about female empowerment but the characters are quite unlikable so it falls flat. The whodunit aspect of the story is well done so you will enjoy the book based on that even if the characters annoy you.
Thanks to Netgalley, William Morrow, and Harper Collins for their Scence of the Crime Early Reads advanced copy of this book. The opinions are my own.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.

The first third of the book was pretty slow, I had a hard time getting into it and it was difficult to keep the three main characters straight. The last half was good, it had a few twists I didn't see coming.

Mackenzie, Robin, and Lily have been best friends for a long time, sharing life's ups and downs and growing even closer as the years have gone by. Each of them thinks they know everything about one another, but as they're about to discover, they're each harbouring secrets....

First off, a huge thank you to Pamela Crane for sending me a gifted copy of this to read and review! That being said, all thoughts within this review are honest and my own.

LITTLE DEADLY SECRETS is a juicy domestic drama that tests the bonds of friendship, family and matrimony. It begs the question: how far would you go to protect your darkest secrets?

The novel is told through multiple character perspectives (mostly Mac, Robin and Lily) and bit by bit, each of their carefully created facades begin to chip away. Secrets upon secrets are slowly revealed and I was completely on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. Crane does a great job of creating an atmosphere of voyeurism and I just couldn't get enough of the drama! Although LITTLE DEADLY SECRETS is not your typical thriller, it still packs a punch with it's twists and turns. Let me just say...I was NOT expecting that ending!

Mark your calendars - you do NOT want to miss this one! Publish date: August 18th
