Once again, so surprised by what this book was. Jenny Colgan does not write a typical romance- again, dealt with some much deeper issues. That train thing ?? What the heck was that 😭 I loved it. Made me want to visit Scotland and open a bookstore (not at the same time) fr. I did kind of half hate Nina though tbh. Initially wish I’d read this (and Shore) before 500 miles, but I actually think it was cute this way too.

Super cute book. Nina is relatable, the scenery is palpable, love interests are swoon worthy and it'll give you all the warm fuzzies without being cliche.

This was an unexpectedly delightful read. I knew from her “Message to Readers” that I would like Jenny Colgan and enjoy her whimsy in the simple joys of daily life. I continued to like her when she proceeded to list “Stuff I Like” in her “About the Author,” section, and it was quite simply a list of things that bring her joy, like bicycles, pink wine, Spotify, only some seasons of Big Brother, stripey things, etc. I always smile when I can picture an author as one of my oldest friends.

This book is for anyone that lives their life quietly in a corner being nice, longing for dreams they think they can’t have because they’re not special or extraordinary. Well, guess what? You are special, and you are extraordinary.

It’s a bit predictable with no major mind bendy twists that require the most focused attention, which makes this a nice beach or poolside read.

Beautifully captured sense of place. I'm of course irritated that the main character was 29. Barf. Totally identify with the library conversion bits. Double barf. Book Club book. Will read more of Colgan's books when I'm ready for a vacation but can't afford one.

Really enjoyed this book. I listened to the audiobook version and it added something extra to it. I will say, absolutely did not expect the sex scenes 3/4 of the way into the book.
