Excellent autobiographical account of a fiery activist who resolves not to suffer injustice. Helps gain a better overview of caste discrimination in rural Maharashtra. Influence of Dr Ambedkar, Phule and Buddhist principles on Mr Awad shine through and he is evidently no Gandhi. Also chronicles the movements fighting caste discrimination and their methods from a first person account.

"So the question before me was: should I cower and crawl and live my life in mute obeisance or should I fight this injustice openly and with all my strength?"

A lot of the sentiments of the book were probably lost in translation.
