I really liked this book. The realities the characters were dealing with in terms of their past relationships hit a littttlle too close to home but in a good way. The inner dialogue of the characters was very descriptive almost to a fault- but ultimately what else is a romance gonna do.
The only thing I can’t deal with are pet names- and there were so many.

Digital audiobook performed by Adjoa Andoh
From the book jacket: Chloe Brown is a chronically ill computer geek with a goal, a plan, and a list. After almost – but not quite – dying, she’s come up with seven directives to help her “get a life,” and she’s already completed the first: finally moving out of her glamorous family’s mansion. [The last item on her list]: Do something bad. But it’s not easy being bad, even when you’ve written step-by-step guidelines on how to do it correctly. What Chloe needs is a teacher, and she knows just the man for the job.
My reactions:
I was drawn to the book because of the promise of a heroine who faces some significant challenges. I did get that, and some other serious issues, along with the typical rom-com tropes, but the book fell flat for me.
I really liked Chloe and totally understood both her insecurities and her desire to break out and DO things, to grab hold and live her own life. I also liked Red, the super of her apartment building with tattoos, a leather jacket and a motorbike, who promises to help her with her list. He also has some significant issues that aren’t apparent on the surface, and I liked how Hibbert handled his journey. The chemistry between the two seemed genuine and I liked their banter. But there was something about the graphic sex scenes which just turned me off.
I’m still willing to try another book by Hibbert, but I’m in no hurry to do so.
Adjoa Andoh did a fine job of narrating the audiobook. She really brought these characters to life.

I can only say one thing about this book. The moment when Chloe suggests to Red that they should watch Killjoys - I knew this is my kind of story... :-)

Honestly, this book was adorable. There was something I wanted to talk about on this review but I forgot it. Ugh me and my fucked up brain. I really loved how this book sort of touched on men in abusive relationships because that's rarely ever mentioned in our everyday life. I felt for him. It was fucked up and I could see he wasn't over it. He truly got over it at the end. I'm glad he decided to work on it too. I understand chloe character very well. The way she shuts down and refuse to take risks. I get her. I liked her character and their relationship. This book wasn't focused on anything else, just them and how they reacted to each other as well as their past. It was interesting. It was adorable. I enjoyed reading this. It took me a while cuz I wanted to let everything sink in. It was a good read. I also liked the pace. The book wasn't too fast and it wasn't too slow.
I can't wait for the next book and the one after. I can't wait for eve story. I hope she gets a story.

This book has so much going for it: the most badass fmc, witty banter, chronic illness rep, great character growth - the list goes on. It did focus heavily on the physical aspect of Chloe and Red's relationship, which isn't my cup of tea, but that's just my own personal preference. Overall, it was cute and lovely and I would recommend!!
