Surprisingly funny at some points, incredibly boring most of the time. Conseil got on my nerves all the time. Definite gay undercurrents ;) which made the book better but this was definitely a slog.

It felt even more encyclopedic and fish-obsessed than Moby Dick, although that's probably a factor of audiobook vs reading. A fun adventure story, and the long descriptions of marine life did help to make the journey feel rich and more than just boys own set peices. Pretty fun, but not my favourite of his
