Wow! This one leaves its mark with the blood and sex. Hopefully Gretchen will stay away long enough for Archie and Susan to have a story of their own. I have a feeling that, like Hannibal escaping to the tropics and then returning to the States for revenge, Gretchen is not finished causing Archie pain. (Archie likes the feeling too much).

“This was one of the things that Gretchen had taught him - his instincts, always so reliable when it came to crime, could fail him when it came to people.”

This is already my final journey with Archie and Sheridan... After neglecting the series for years, I've finally stepped up my game and read the final four books in record time. I know that technically the author promised more books were yet to come, but as it’s been seven years since book six was published I don’t think that will happen any time soon. That said, while Let Me Go is not my favorite of the series and not as strong as the first books, it was without doubt still a thrilling read. I've grown close to the characters and it's been great meeting up with them in what is without doubt another dangerous and shocking ride. What initially seems more like a mafia vibe kind of read, soon gives us another dose of that serial killer element and of course Gretchen will make her appearance once again. These books are engaging and if you don't mind things getting dark, gory and sexual in points and love a good serial killer thriller with a twist, Let Me Go is without doubt another hit. I would definitely recommend reading these books in order though, because you will be missing out on the dynamics and history between the characters otherwise.

Gretchen not being killed worst. The gender essentialism got old, and no doubt far more pronounced since Cain's Man-eaters series brought to light her views. Susan was far too much of a damsel here.

It's time to retire this series. Please kill Gretchen in the next book. She and Archie are getting really boring.

Gretchen Lowell is on the loose. As usual, Chelsea Cain shines with unrelenting suspense and a dash of 50 SHADES OF GREY in her sixth Gretchen Lowell thriller. The Portland, Oregon, settings are well depicted and I was right there in Lake Oswego while Gretchen did her dastardly deeds.

3 is "liked it." I did. This installment included some flashbacks from Archie and Gretchen's initial liaisons - which helped me more fully understand Archie's fascination with her. However, I cannot understand his feelings for Susan. At all. Maybe it's the way the reader of this audio makes her sound - but to me she's immature, outspoken, selfish and....in many ways....stupid. These stories always fascinate me, and I'm hoping for more, but I'm glad I'm finished with the ones that are currently out so that I can take a little Archie Sheridan break.

I actually enjoyed this one, it's been a few of these since I have liked one. Thing one was good.
