Definitely not my favorite of TJR but a unique plot. I was rooting for Sam all along tbh

Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my favorite authors. I won’t even try to explain how I feel about this book because nothing would do it justice. Go read it. (Or listen to it.)

First of all--90's vibes on POINT! I tabbed more in this book out of pure nostalgia than I did for the overall plot.

I read One True Loves in one sitting. Started at night and stayed up until 1:30am to finish.

Our MC is in an impossible situation. After believing her husband was killed in a helicopter crash four years prior, she moves on with her life and gets engaged....then he's back.

It's naive to think that grief and loss won't change a person to their core, so I appreciate the honesty that this book brought to the forefront. Running back to her husband and living happily ever after would have been is easy--but it's not always reality.

It brought a great question-- do you choose your life based on the person you want to spend your life with OR do you choose your person based on the life YOU want.

My issue with this book was the goodbye ending. I hated it. I thought it was cheap, sleazy, and just wrong on so many levels. Literally jump out of bed with one guy, to go home to to another. Nope. He deserved better.
