THIS BOOK

Holy shit this book was so good!
It's very hefty on lore and world building so the first 200-300 pages took me a long time to get through but they are so worth it! The lore of this world is incredible. Tané and Ead were my favourite characters. The only thing I wished was that the end fight would have been a bit longer? Also how dare they end with that cliffhanger on Tané??? Is she okay?? I need answers!

5/5 Can't wait to start in the prequel book!

holding back horrible tears i could’ve taken an extra 500 pages. the promise of a sequel is keeping me on edge i cant believe people were satisfied with the ending i want more like i’m so sad DON’T GET ME WRONG the ending is amazing actually it’s the most amazing it can get i’m just so devastated not everyone has gotten the ending they desired and there will be more omg i actually really want a sequel or i’ll reread this… i have the prequel anyway but i want more of eadaz and sabran and idk if the prequel includes them.
anyways this was a GENIUS story. i adored it and i can’t understand anyone who wouldn’t

It's over. I can't quite believe it.

First of all, 10/10 on the world building. It reminds of LOTR, to be honest. Except with more humans and dragons. God, how amazingly she made up the different cultures and religious beliefs for the 4 different regions. It felt a bit confusing at first because it was like learning geography haha. I had to study the maps a bit (but I loved it) to really have a feel of all the journeying they did.

I know Ead was basically the MC even though there were several POVs but I wish Tané and Seiiki were explored a bit more because - dragons! I'd have thought that being a Miduchi would be explored further - how they protect Seiiki and its seas and things. Kinda sad the dragon scenes were so little (I mean, for a book supposedly about dragons... so I was a little disappointed)

Btw I hated Roos. I couldn't even see the point of him in the story. He honestly does nothing but betray everyone (while somehow justifying it to himself) and I /do not/ understand why Shannon was so desperate to give him this redemption arc.

Add this to a slew of characters that aren't really interesting - and they die, too, but you don't really care. Also, for Loth, I'm sorry, but I honestly don't care about him. He's such a non-character I'm surprised he took up lots of chapters.
