(I've watched all 3 seasons of the anime which is why I am picking up the manga in the first place.)
Watching kids finding their passion and being unashamedly excited and nervous and competitive about it, is my jam. It's a great start to this manga series about a very unique sport and 3 friends who just wanted to have some fun together that discover something powerful along the way.
While volume 1 can be read much like a prequel or prologue, it already established some themes and conflicts that will return.
And we already meet so many recurring side character, I totally forgot we meet some of them so early!

this manga is amazing. sports, motivations, romance??, high school, expectations.
great character developments over multiple years of a traditional, niche (as a western reader i guess) sport. great humor, amazing romantic panels, amazing clutch sport moments.
its all those but also at the center about enjoying the time and ties with your friends and the life that you chose to lead and the meaning you chose to impart on it. i wish it was all finished but i will be keeping up to see how it ends~
