A continued story of Dave Pelzers life being saved from his abusive torturous mother. We witness his new struggles being a teenager in the foster system. On top of that, the struggles with the mental outcomes from the trauma he faced. In other words, the psychological damage that has occurred. I dont want to get too deep into that aspect because it will give away the whole book pretty much. However, you experience the journey with young dave all through his multiple foster families. His struggles to keep one because of the psychological damage. His possible forever homes. His new friends that he makes and finally his release to the adult world.

Overall, I was so happy to read about daves escape from his mothers abusive grasp. It was heartbreaking to read about all the trouble he got himself into. Heartbreaking, but understandable. In the end, the relief that this book provides after reading the first book is honestly worth it. I know i said in my previous review that none of the other books are worth it but after going in to write this review I can say that this one is worth it. This is only my opinion and the other books may be worth it to others.

Overall a 4 star read.

This was a gut punching, sobbing, dramatic book about what a child sometimes go through when their parents aren't there for them the way they should be. Cheers to you, as an Author to write your own story. Glad you made it through to tell us about your story.
