I actually enjoyed this more than a child called it. There was more to it and i liked the insight into the foster care system and to see that it can work :)

This is the sequel to A Child Called It and chronicles Dave's life after his mothers physical abuse when he enters the foster care system. Great read, not as emotionally disturbing as the first book, which is the point - we're taking the journey with Dave trough his life and each book evolves just as he.

Second in a three-part series about author David Pelzer's struggle to overcome childhood trauma. Very engaging and emotional - a quick read.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first! This is such an awful story, and please make sure you look up the trigger warnings since this whole book is about a true child abuse case. I couldn't even imagine all the things Dave went through as a child.

Not nearly as interesting as the first. This book had an air of whininess. I was not a fan.
dark emotional sad medium-paced

Even though it's embellished, it shows how bad "the system" can be for thousands of kids. Instead of reading this book, go out and facilitate change. Become a foster parent.
