I absolutely love when authors write spin offs of a fan favorite series and this book did not disappoint. It was a little bit more predictable than the stars and shadows series but I loved how we got to see new insights to Thalia and Sorin as characters and the love that truly blossoms between them. It’s everything you want in a fantasy romance with an awesome outside plot of following them to the human kingdom and all that ensues. I love how strong Thalia is portrayed and you get the He Falls First trope! All in all another 5 star read by Holly!

So this is Thalias story in a way (and I enjoyed her as a side character in the earlier books so I was happy to read this), our other main characters have defeated the main douche bad guy and they are still uncovering some interesting information about a potential new bad douche guy, which only Thalia can sneak in and spy on to find out more info; but shes also juggling some inner demons with being enough for herself and pushing back at being enough for someone else, or fearful that she might lose them. So theres some back and forth with that that I enjoyed. I do not think the spice was done as well, I imagine when you have different characters being spicy there would be some variations in the dialog to make it more unique to them, but it was much of the same from the other characters in the earlier books. And the ending felt a bit abrupt, anticlimactic maybe, which is a bit of a let down. Overall I enjoyed this, it was a short read and I had fun with it.
4⭐️ - Thalia and Sorin’s book is one of my favorite of the series! I enjoyed the plot of this book, the spice and the action! I honestly wish I got more of them!

I was given a free copy of this book for a free review by the author and Valentine PR.
I loved Adara and Evern’s story in the first three books. It read cohesively, was romantic, and the world building was really cool. So when I had the opportunity to read the next in the series (technically a spin-off/conclusion) I signed up immediately. I loved Thalia. Her character is someone I think a lot of people relate to and have a connection to. Sorin, however, felt overbearingly protective in this. He felt more like a father or authority figure than a love interest. He was constantly bossing Thalia around and trying to decide what was for her own good without her input.
The entire book led up to the ending for it to only be about ten pages. It felt extremely rushed and like last minute fixes were made.
I am happy that I read it because I have slightly more of a conclusion on some fronts. But the majority of the book just left me with more questions that were never answered. This book needed about fifty more pages of political answers and fifty more pages for answering things that were mentioned but never addressed.
All thoughts and feelings are my own!
