I didn’t love this book like I loved the others in the series. The miscommunication was rampant and it felt like the characters were repeating the same inner dialogue throughout.
We’ve met the main characters in other books and their interactions were fun or sweet or heated or heartfelt.
The MMC was very clear that the FMC was his but didn’t repeat the sentiment until near the end, probably just a pet peeve of mine but still drives me nuts.
The spice was good. Felt a bit abrupt but it still fit in the story.
Literal bodice ripping, adventure, PTSD and survivor guilt rep, FMC who could definitly kick everyone’s ass, Good cameos

So happy to return to this series! The Stars and Shadows series is one of my faves and I loved getting to see more of these characters.
This book was a ROLLER COASTER. My stomach was in knots the whole time - but in a good way.
The ending wrapped up a little too quick for me and left me with a few questions. But mostly I’m sad for it all to be over.
If you love spicy romance, but haven’t dabbled into fantasy yet, this series is definitely one I always recommend.
