I usually don't get mad at books. I either like them or I don't. I'm so pissed off at this book that I can't even put into words what I feel.

Damien dies. Death steps in and gives him another year to live. He must change his name (King Far) and never have anything to do with the family he left behind. His younger brother Joey is such a broken teenager...but he can't contact him.
The first half of this book was just wonderful. The story built up to the point where I felt for all the characters and was just enthralled.
Then the fucking second half happened. I don't know what the hell the author was thinking. You take everything bad in life and cram it into a book in just a few chapters?? HELL NO!
That was just too much.
I'm giving it a 3 star. The first half was a 4 star read and then the last was a 1 star. I'm averaging it high because it did cause me to feel so much.

Fuck you book..just fuck you.

I received a ARC copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I might actually need therapy after this book. :P If you struggle with depression, do not recommend.

Also, after hanging in there (hoping for a semi-positive ending) I nearly pissed rage in the last chapters as one of the only female characters' major life decision was more or less railroaded in order to fulfill a plot convenience. Noooot something I'll be handing over to my daughters.

That said, I did actually enjoy the writing style, and would be willing to give the author another chance (with a different premise).
