I absolutely loved most of this book. The worldbuilding and political intrigue is still fantastic, and I really enjoyed the (albeit brief) look at Antarctica as a completely different society to the Republic and Colonies. I also loved the relationship between Day and June, they are so perfect for each other and their bond was especially strong in this book since they were fully trusting and communicating with each other. My heartstrings were tugged on multiple times.

I did not like the ending, although I’m not sure if that’s a writing thing or if it’s just me being a firm hater of both the amnesia plotline and the time skip epilogue in general. I groaned audibly when June said she and Anden started dating! And then I was very relieved when she said they broke up. I did appreciate the hopeful tone of the very last few paragraphs, though.

Champion is a perfect ending to a thrilling and heartbreaking triology.
We see June Iparis grow and truly find herself.
Especially when it comes to what she wants to do with her life, as she gives up the role of Princeps-Elect.
I also loved how fleshed-out the relationship between Day and Eden was, and to see Day's inner conflict, as he tries to balance trying to protect his brother and letting him slowly grow, was very interesting.
Overall, the theme of family was very concentrated in this final epilogue, along with the sacrifices we have to make, and was an amazing conclusion to a brilliant dystopia triology.
