β€œIt hurts every day, the absence of someone who was once there.”

Yeah... I love this series. The characters have changed and grown, and they're different because their experiences have made them different. Yet, they are still the same characters that I know and love. I view this story as something that I just want to get lost in, a world that I want to stay in, each book as good as the last: a continuous, flowing narrative that spans over years. I can't believe I'm almost done with this series.

I just finished the last page of the final book in the trilogy of Legend (not including the extra book Rebel) and I am speechless. When I finished the first book, Legend, I wasn't planning on continuing the series, but let me tell you, I am SO glad I changed my mind. Marie Lu's work of art in these books deserves all the praise, and should be up there sitting in the ranks with The Hunger Games. Just when you think (at the end of the second book, Prodigy) that June and Day are destined to lead seperate lives and forget all that has happened, they are once again brought together in a battle fighting for everything they know and love. The third installment of this series was filled with adrenaline-pumping events, bittersweet heartfelt moments, and tense, breathtaking scenes. Each page of this book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I can not recommend this series enough. Age rec 14+ (the two main characters spend the night together, sexual relations are implied, but the writing mostly focuses on their emotions during this time, not the physical description. Very tastefully written, and did not make me uncomfortable (as I often get uncomfortable in scenes like these))

Champion is a perfect ending to a thrilling and heartbreaking triology.
We see June Iparis grow and truly find herself.
Especially when it comes to what she wants to do with her life, as she gives up the role of Princeps-Elect.
I also loved how fleshed-out the relationship between Day and Eden was, and to see Day's inner conflict, as he tries to balance trying to protect his brother and letting him slowly grow, was very interesting.
Overall, the theme of family was very concentrated in this final epilogue, along with the sacrifices we have to make, and was an amazing conclusion to a brilliant dystopia triology.
