Slow start but I enjoyed reading about the author's adult life and his strength training to cope with his disorder.

The World’s Strongest Librarian is a memoir. Despite some heavy topics (including miscarriage) much of the books is told in a humorous, wise-cracking style. I was surprised by how severe Tourette’s can be, and intrigued by the way he uses strength-training and breathing as a way to partially contain it. I appreciated his openness about questioning his Mormon faith and pleasantly surprised by how accepting his family and church leaders were about this. I loved that so much of this book read as a love letter to stories, books and libraries, although the insights into the realities of being a librarian were a little jaw dropping. The use of Dewey Decimal classifications instead of more traditional chapter titles added a little extra bookish fun.
