A childhood favorite of mine that I read aloud to my middle child. Like the whole series it was a blast to read: dynamic, adventurous, tragic, and triumphant. I was struck multiple times by the beautiful descriptive turns of phrase Jacques uses… the books are substance and style, and just darn fun. A ripping good yarn.
