4 stars for the illustrations & bilingualness. Not a big fan of the rhyme itself.

This is a progressive poem. Progressive poems are kind of cool and I used to love learning them, as a kid, because they were progressive.

Such as the poem “I know an old lady who swallowed a fly”, “The Old Woman and her pig” or the song of “There’s a hole in the bucket”. Each one follows the other to go on to the next thing that needs to be done.

And this one does it too. It is the story of the snow and why it is so bad. And the snow blames someone else, and someone else blames them.

The pictures are ok. And the story is both in English and Spanish. But the prose seems awkward, and not that exiting to say.

Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.

I have seen these books before that tell the same rhyme in 2 languages, but it’s the first I have read. I wonder if this is the first of its kind. This is French and English. It is a little rhyme that constantly builds on itself. (This is an old English Nursery rhyme)

My niece has a friend in school who speaks french as she lives there in the summers. She has heard her friend speak French and I think my niece is interested in learning more. I took French long ago and I mostly can still read it somewhat, so I read both parts and then she would say it after me. She had fun. She gave this book 4 stars.

Neither of us thought the artwork was good. To me, it’s garish and well, it’s not to my taste. The nephew didn’t much care about the language, but he enjoyed this little story enough to give it 3 stars. He did like hearing the weird words.
