Never thought I’d read Shakespeare for fun yet here we are.

La prima opera che leggo di Shakespeare, ma anche la sua penultima.
Che dire: magia e storia, tragedia e commedia, fusi insieme, e poi questo inaspettato senso di accettazione/rassegnazione alla fine.
Mi sono piaciuti molto Prospero (il discorso finale, così emblematico, ma anche il cambio di piani) e Miranda (quando vede per la prima volta Ferdinando).
Una storia carica di significati. Non a caso ha alcune delle battute più famose di Shakespeare: «L'inferno è vuoto, e i diavoli sono tutti qui» e «Siamo fatti della stessa materia di cui sono fatti i sogni».
Da rileggere. E/o da vedere a teatro.

Shakespeare gör något med språk som förändrar allt. Många gånger stannar jag upp och behöver ta andra tagningar. Meningar som är så oändligt vackra och exakta som är med i en berättelse och kastas bort som vilken kommentar som helst. Utöver det omöjliga språket är berättelserna väldigt roliga och ärliga. Frågor om människan och dylikt. Det finns inget finare än Shakespeare och språk

It's been some years since I read Shakespeare and I honestly couldn't remember reading this one so I gave it a shot and for a short play, I found it to be slightly boring.

Maybe it's the pacing at the beginning but I found it to be messy and in some areas dull where in others slightly racist and pompous.
Granted that for the time the play was written the particulars I found to be racist were part of the every day and well within the time and language of the moment so I can gloss over it, the way that Shakespeare used instalust to gloss over a hasty rape attempt but this wasn't my favorite of the bard's work.

Granted I am glad to have read it, not to mark a book off, but to have a reference of what I'm labeling as a so-so book even from a great author like Shakespeare.
