A suitably apt ending to what for me is now one of my favourite series of books. My only disappointment is that the journey is now ended - at least for now.

It was really good.
The story is complete and sensible, and although I would have preferred a happier ending, I could not help but to feel that that was the best way things could have played out.

He is Kellen Argos, the Path of the Endless Stars, and he is free.

A great final entry to this underrated series. The story is filled with surprises, tension, familiar and new faces, and an ending that fits perfectly for the series. In this finale, Kellen must make devastating choices that will affect not only him, but the entire realm as a new being threatens an oncoming war.

The book is filled with tension. The stakes have never been higher, with Kellen's friends risking their lives and his moral code pushed to its breaking point. This is also the time when the last secrets are revealed and the arcs that have been building for so long finally come to a head. There are some amazing moments in here and I'm going to miss this entire cast.

I loved seeing how Kellen was brought to this point. He grew so much and watching him here, using the Argosi ways to help those around him, was fantastic. I loved reuniting with other side characters, and the resolution for Kellen and his family was quite powerful.

While the stakes are high, the story isn't rushed. There is a great deal of time spent with these characters, as needed since it's the last time we will see them. I felt that everyone had great scenes, none more so than Kellen and his father.

The writing and dialogue was flowing and descriptive, allowing for a great deal of imagination. This is an excellent series for anyone looking for a fresh fantasy series to dive into. I can't wait to read more of de Castell's work!
