This book was underwhelming. The writing feels choppy and boring. The mystery the plot is centered on feels lazy and the attempt at a cliffhanger was dissapointing. After having read The Twin as well as the excerpt of The Island in the back of this book, I noiced that all of her main characters seem to have the same voice. They're all written so similarly that they sort of blend together.

Interesting enough story but I found the majority of this book to drag and was filler unfortunately. Not my favorite writing style but not a terrible book imo

This book was just boring. The writing is lackluster, lots of telling and not showing. No description of the setting outside of "oh look there's Halloween decorations everywhere" and the dialogue is so bad that the characters have no individual voices. I'm not usually so Critical but this was just a slog to get through. Not worth it.

I felt that that book was too structured as that it did not leave room for interpretation. I’m also very disappointed in the ending as there is no true conclusion. This was my first book from this author and I’m unsure if this is their style but it’s definitely not for me. I also want to say that the writing was quite boring, but it could be the story itself. If this was translated into a movie it’d definitely be the lower budget types.
