The Haunting

Disappointing. Don't let the title fool you. There is nothing paranormal or haunting in this. I did not enjoy the writing style either. A YA book can still have good dialogue and 17 year olds with intelligence. I did like the actual premise of the story. I just don't feel it was executed well.

firstly — LAST BOOK OF THE YEARRR SLAAAAYYYYY
secondly — i once again need time to recover

The book was good, a good YA thriller. However, the ending left me dissatisfied. The cliffhanger was just too much for me.

I usually love Natasha Preston books and I saw this one I was like oh this sounds interesting and then I got more into it and I was like this kinda gives off the scream movie franchise. Then I get more into it and I’m just like OK absolutely not. I just really can’t do this but I’ve never DNF a book before so I’m gonna do this, and then I’m like OK it’s getting better like this is getting a bit more toward the end and then that ending and then really no reasoning. Besides the fact that the killers really just wanted to kill this is absolutely disappointing.

However, the Arthur does have other books that are better, but this one is not it and I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends who, like thriller or horror books, and I for sure will not read this again. Or talk about it.

I honestly thought that she wrote this book in her younger years or beginning years of writing, but that’s not the case which makes this book even more disappointing it feels like it was very rushed.

If I could give it one and a half stars, I would. This is coming from someone who always gives at least four stars even on books that I really really don’t care, but this one I just I can’t..

Anyways… BANG.
