This book was an easy read for me, I found that once we had “read” all the letters, it really took off. The past quarter I absolutely flew through as I was so intrigued. I didn’t pick the ending.

I was surprised by the ending and loved that the book had such a climax.

I did struggle to really engage with any of the four girls, I didn’t find that I loved or hated any of them and couldn’t connect with them the way I wish I could. Perhaps that was purposely done to ensure you couldn’t pick the ending.

Fun read but quite unbelievable. I enjoyed the ride. It just wasn’t a favorite.

Could have done without reading this book - it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good - I would recommend it as maybe a teen fiction for a young girl

Reading Challenge Prompt: A book you meant to read in 2017 but didn't get to

So this book has been sitting in my virtual "TBR" pile for about 4 years. I love the plot of this book and for the most part enjoyed the story. But I am so tired of main characters who are unlikeable and not intentionally, but just very stupid in the way they are doing things or indecisive about important things. Quirky is very hard to convey in a book and maybe that was what the author was attempting to do but the inner monologue of the main character had me rolling my eyes and taking a break because it was too much. I didn't guess the author of the fifth letter until close to the end so I was happy about that. I also enjoyed the different characters personalities and situations in life.

I flew through this book, but I'm not sure that's indictive of anything. This was a quick, light read that was enjoyable, but nothing that will stick with me. It's definitely women's fiction, not a mystery, and the story centers on four friends and their secrets.

They are on their annual holiday and it seems that they don't really all even want to be there or like each other very much. Joni tries to get everyone back together and has the idea to each write a letter that contains a secret. It's all supposed to be anonymous, but you can guess how that turns out. The "mystery" is that a fifth letter appears. There are only four friends. Who wrote the letter?

The book tells of secrets, hidden resentment and lies. Really, you wouldn't want to be friends with any of these women, but it makes for a compelling story. Again, for something light and quick, this is a good pick.
